On Monday, the District Prosecutor's Office in Koszalin announced that charges had been filed against five people arrested in connection with a brutal brawl that broke out overnight from Saturday to Sunday in Szczecinek. A 23-year-old man was killed as a result of the brawl.
"Five of the detainees were charged with participating in the brawl. Additionally, one of the individuals who used a baton was charged with participating in a beating with a dangerous weapon. More people have been arrested. Police know who committed the fatal blow.Investigators also announced the arrest of one of the two people wanted in connection with the tragedy. However, this is not the man suspected of stabbing the victim. Police know his identity and are conducting an intensive search.
As a reminder, the tragedy unfolded in the center of Szczecinek around midnight . At least a dozen people were involved in the brawl. Three young men were taken to hospital – two were released after receiving first aid, while the third, a 23-year-old, died from stab wounds.
Revenge that ended in deathAccording to investigators, the tragic incident may have stemmed from a previous incident. Two people were allegedly beaten in a town near Szczecinek. The victims gathered a group of friends and headed to the city to—as the prosecutor's office put it—"settle a score." The encounter between two groups of young men escalated into a bloody conflict that ended with the death of a 23-year-old Szczecinek resident.
The Szczecinek prosecutor's office is investigating a man involved in a fight involving the use of a dangerous weapon, which resulted in his death. The detainees are young men in their 20s.
